Groene knolamaniet, Amanita phalloides

De groene knolamaniet is een van de giftigste paddestoelen. 

De moeder van Keizer Nero bracht Nero's voorganger ermee om het leven. (bron: Noorderland 2007).

Stinkzwam, Stinkhorn

Phallaceae is een familienaam van paddenstoelen.  

De familie wordt ook wel aangeduid als de familie der stinkzwammen.

 Alle familieleden zijn makkelijk te herkennen aan hun doordringende geur, die onder meer aasvliegen aanlokt. Koningin Victoria hield niet de vorm van de grote stinkzwam, zij vond ze afschuwelijk. Ze liet ze verwijderen uit het bos door een speciale boswachter (bron: Noorderland 2007).   

Ik vind het zo'n grappig verhaal!

Stinkhorn. Phallaceae is a family of mushrooms.  

The family is also referred to as the family of the stink fungi. 

All family members are easily identified by their pungent odor, which among others attracts blowflies. Queen Victoria did not like the shape of the large stinkhorn, they found them horribly. She had them removed from the forest by a special ranger (source: North Country 2007).

 I think it's such a funny story!
