Phallaceae is een familienaam van
paddenstoelen.
De familie wordt ook wel aangeduid als de familie
der stinkzwammen.
Alle familieleden zijn makkelijk te herkennen aan hun
doordringende geur, die onder meer aasvliegen aanlokt. Koningin Victoria hield niet de vorm van de grote stinkzwam, zij
vond ze afschuwelijk. Ze liet ze verwijderen uit het bos door een speciale
boswachter (bron: Noorderland 2007).
Ik
vind het zo'n grappig verhaal!
